General Code of Conduct for Students

All the students are expected to be courteous and respectful. They need to learn certain basic things.  They have to be punctual and Should take pride in wearing neat and proper uniform at the school.  No discrimination based on caste, creed, religion or gender is allowed in the school.  Use of intoxicants is strictly prohibited.  Use/possession of intoxicants, if detected, would invite immediate suspension/dismissal from the school. Use of Mobile phones, I-pods, media players, cameras and other electronic gadgets are not allowed in the school.

Special Notes for Parents

* Parents are expected to co-operate with the school authorities in enforcing punctuality, regularity and discipline.  Please ensure that your ward revises the lessons and does the homework regularly.  Parents should take an active and helpful interest in the activities of the school.

* Parents / Guardians are requested to go through the school diaries of their wards every day.  Remarks made in the diary should be seen and countersigned.

* As the medium of instruction in the school is English, it would be helpful if the student can practice English conversation at home.  Parents may, therefore, encourage the students to converse in English.  Awareness of current affairs through discussions at home goes a long way to build a sound base for good general knowledge and ability to participate in discussions elsewhere.  Students should be encouraged to read newspapers, books and magazines.

* Students suffering from contagious or infectious diseases should not be sent to the school unless cured completely.

* Parents are requested to intimate the school office promptly in the event of any change of address or telephone number, so that the school authorities can contact them quickly in case of emergencies.

GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE

  • Admission in Ursuline English Medium School, Karisath, implies on the part of the pupil and parents a willingness to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.
  • Students are expected to behave politely on all occasions.  They should address all members of the staff with due respect and politeness.  They must show gentleness and courtesy to their companions.  Refinement of manners uprightness and self restraint should be characteristic of every pupil of the school.
  • Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience or conduct injurious to the tone of the school, are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student.
  • The Principal has the right to suspend attendance or require the withdrawal of any students without having to assign any reason; provided that she is satisfied that such a step is necessary in the interest of the school.
  • Students must wear the correct uniform otherwise they are liable to be excluded from the classroom.  No jewellery may be worn.
  • Every student is expected to take part in school activities.
  • No books, periodicals pictures or newspapers shall be brought into school without permission.  No collection of any kind or sale of tickets for any purpose is permitted in the school without the permission of the Principal.
  • No student may leave the school premises without the permission of the Principal.
  • Students are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings which should be clearly marked with the pupil’s name.  All damage to school property must be repaid at the cost of the persons responsible for the damage.
  • Students who have been absent from class or who come to class late must have the reason entered in the regularity record, stating briefly the cause of the absence or delay.
  • No school business will be transacted on holidays.
  • The school cannot be held responsible for accidents small or serious to pupil’s during school hours.  However the possible first aids will be given.
  • English is to be used in the school premises and in the school bus.  Those not willing to abide by this regulation will be asked to leave the school.
  • The school is not responsible for loss of books, money and other things.
  • Parents and guardians are not allowed to see their children or interview a teacher during school hours without the permission of the Principal.
  • Private tuition is discouraged and should not be arranged for without permission from school authorities.  Permission is granted only for very special reasons and for a short time.
  • Reports on general progress will be sent to parents during the year.  These should be studied carefully and returned to the school authorities signed by a parent or guardian.  Promotions are granted on the basis of the whole year’s work.  The decision of the school authorities with regard to promotion is FINAL.
  • The diary is for official school use only, and must be reserved for notices, homework and instructions.  It must be brought to school each day and produced for inspection whenever required.
  • Both father and mother should attend the parent-teacher meeting organized by the School from time to time.

A WORD TO PARENTS

Co-operation of the parents in the proper development of the child needs to be emphasized.  They are requested to ensure that.

  • The children are provided with the necessary books, stationery and uniform.
  • The children come to school regularly punctually and  in proper uniform.
  • The children devote sufficient time at home to complete their home assignment and revise their lessons.
  • They go through this diary and check up whether the child is doing his/her home work properly or not.  Parents are requested please to refrain themselves from passing rude remarks about the school and teachers.  However they are most welcome to see the Principal for their opinion and suggestions.
  • Parents are requested to respond timely to the reports and information sent to them from the school.  The school community expects full co-operation from the parents.

Dates of Fee Collection

All school dues are collected from 1st to 25th every month.  In case 25th is a holiday, the parents can remit the fees without fine the next day.

If dues are not cleared till 25th, a fine of Rs. 30/- will be charged from 26st.  The name of the child may be struck off from the rolls if one fails to pay the fee consecutively for two months.
